The specification detailed below is the current specification for the Corsa recently built by GMC Motorsport.

 

Bodyshell

1994 Opel Corsa bodyshell, seam welded throughout for torsional rigidity, with additional strengthening at all suspension mounting points and front crossmember.

Professionally installed T45 16 point FIA Approved Weld-in Roll Cage.

Re-designed box section rear inner wheel arches to enable installation of non-standard coilover strut assembly.

Removal of all unnecessary non-structural steelwork from shell.

Roof mounted Air Vent with adjustable discharge outlets.

4mm Polycarbonate clear sheet to replace all side and rear glass with integrated slider kits fitted to driver and navigator windows. Windscreen is standard laminated.

Front and Rear sill mounted axle stand apertures.

Lightweight, Fibreglass Bonnet with Air Intake to assist airflow within engine compartment. 

Corsa Kit Car boot mounted spoiler.

8mm thick Aluminium Sump Guard protecting engine and transmission.

2mm Galvanized Sheet Steel Tank Guard.

 

 

Fire Protection

2.25 litre AFFF FIA Approved plumbed-in Fire Extinguisher with dual engine bay discharge nozzles. Extinguisher can be actuated both internally or externally by emergency pull handles.

2Nr hand held 1.75 litre AFFF Fire Extinguishers located in navigator’s footwell and adjacent tailgate.

 

 

 

Fuel System

 

Twin (duty & stand-by) Facet red-top electric Fuel Pumps located within a sealed enclosure transffering fuel from tank to swirl pot mounted in engine bay.

High pressure fuel pump transferring fuel from Swirl Pot to Fuel Rail at 3 bar pressure.

Stainless steel braided rubber fuel hose throughout.

Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Aluminium Swirl Pot fuel chamber.

Jenvey Throttle bodies and Bosch Injectors.

 

 

Electrics

Extensive wiring modifications to suit motorsport requirements.

Emergency electrics Cut-off Switch which can be operated from inside & outside of car.

Additional Fuse Box located in centre console for essential services.

Engine observation gauges which display, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature & Battery Voltage.

Multiple Switch Panel to control Fuel Pumps, Spot Lights, Intercom etc

Console mounted external temperature gauge.

Modified inlet port to ensure optimum atomisation and delivery of air/fuel mixture into combustion chamber.

Flow bench tested prior to assembly.
